I was working in the development sector for about a decade – working to make ideas and practices around inclusion, diversity, equality and equity a fundamental part of our world. These have always been very important to me, but beyond advocacy work there are few roles that offer real impact. So, when I saw this role with ERM, I jumped at the chance.
Working in Social Performance means these concepts are everyday considerations – ESG, corporate responsibility, sustainable development and more. Advising clients on Capital Projects Delivery across different geographies and industries, we have ample scope for shaping a more sustainable world through transactional requirements and general advisory services.
The variety that comes with my role has been incredible. I’ve worked on thermal power plants, renewables, linear projects, infrastructure, supply chains, readymade garments, non-banking financial institutions, manufacturing, pharma and core transaction advisory, among others – impactful projects for influential clients, where real results make a real impact. One project even gave me the opportunity to meet the King of Bhutan! Working with all these different clients and projects does have its complexities, but I find it invigorating. It’s exciting to discover new areas and challenges.
I started this role in my native India, but I’ve since had the chance to move to Thailand – another rewarding challenge for me.
ERM has supported me through this move at every step and it’s been a pleasure getting to know new peers. I still get the chance to interact and work with colleagues right across the region. It really is a global community of experts.
