Max McGinn: a range of different work

Max McGinn, who’s a part of the Marine CPD team, is one of the people who are happy to mix things up. He takes pride in having worked on an oyster restoration project, and even a rocket launch.

What attracted you to ERM?

As ERM is an international company, there are plenty of opportunities to work on a range of projects which can also be located elsewhere in the world. ERM also has many opportunities for personal and professional development through training materials, on the job learning and interacting with technical experts that are your colleagues.

What industries do you work across?

When I first joined ERM in January 2023, I worked on projects within the onshore renewables industry. I moved into the marine CPD team in March and since then my focus has been on different industries, but mainly offshore renewables and marine aggregates. For example, I’ve worked on an oyster restoration project and even a rocket launch!

How would you describe the culture of the Marine CPD team?

The Marine CPD team contains people from different personal and professional backgrounds which creates a culture of collaboration, adaptability, and inclusivity. Everyone in the team is friendly and professional and is willing to help each other with project work and any questions or problems that might occur.

Why is now an exciting time to join ERM?

ERM is at the forefront of a range of industries and places immense value on sustainability and tackling climate change. As there is an urgency to increase the use of renewable energy sources and protect the environment there are plenty of opportunities to work on these types of projects.
