ERM, the world’s largest specialist sustainability consultancy, has been named a Sustainability Consulting Leader in new research from independent analyst firm Verdantix.
The Verdantix Green Quadrant: Sustainability Consulting 2026 report benchmarks 15 of the most prominent sustainability consulting providers. It is designed to equip senior leaders with insight into the competitive landscape for sustainability consulting firms to help inform their buying decisions.
ERM is positioned in the Leaders’ Quadrant for demonstrating the most comprehensive sustainability consulting capabilities. The report highlights ERM’s “best-in-class operational transformation capabilities” and its “consistent ability to translate sustainability strategy into execution for organizations at different maturity levels and across a wider range of topics.” It notes that “These capabilities are reinforced by digitally enabled services and structural change management expertise, supporting sustained implementation, rather than one-off interventions.”
Verdantix reports that the sustainability consulting market has undergone substantial transformation, driven by demand for providers that can help frame sustainability initiatives as proactive strategies for risk management and resilience, integrate sustainability factors into investment and operational decisions, and identify opportunities for strategic impact.
Sabine Hoefnagel, Global Leader of Sustainability & Risk at ERM said: “The market for sustainability consulting is continuing to evolve rapidly, as client priorities shift from strategy and compliance alone to also incorporate deeper integration, implementation, risk mitigation and value creation.
“ERM’s deep technical expertise, integrated services and broad digital capabilities ensure that we can continue to help clients navigate this complex landscape to deliver measurable business value and competitive advantage.”
