Kevin heads ERM's Energy Transition business for Northern Europe, advising clients on Low Carbon Energy Transition strategy and de-risking technological solutions, particularly related to hydrogen. He has over 30 years of experience of onshore and offshore oil and gas and hydrogen projects and has carried out major international projects for clients in the UK, Europe, United States and Middle East. He has completed risk-based evaluation of project designs at concept, feasibility and FEED stage and performed detailed cost-benefit analysis of design changes and design optimisation. Much of this work has involved risk evaluations for completely new and novel facilities, working with clients to ensure successful submission through the regulatory acceptance process.
Kevin is the originator and Project Director of ERM's Dolphyn project (production of bulk scale hydrogen from floating offshore wind) and represents ERM on several gas network projects evaluating the feasibility of using hydrogen to replace natural gas for UK heat. He has recently been involved in providing strategic advice to a major US energy supplier on green hydrogen production, power to gas and hydrogen transport (refuelling depot) projects.
