Sustainable Investment Forum North America 2021

Elizabeth Lowery, formerly the Managing Director of Sustainability and ESG at TPG, is a Senior Advisor for ERM’s Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change practice. Prior to TPG, Elizabeth had a 20-year career with General Motors Company where she was a member of GM’s Senior Leadership Group as Corporate Vice President, Environment, Energy & Safety Policy and Secretary to the Public Policy Committee of the GM Board of Directors. She has held various executive positions including Senior Knowledge Leader and a Principal of GreenOrder at LRN, where she was focused on working with global enterprises to develop sustainability strategies and initiatives. Elizabeth was also a Partner at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn and a law clerk to Michigan Supreme Court Justice G. Mennen Williams. She has served on several non-profit boards including the World Environment Center, InForum Center for Leadership, Keystone Center and the Alliance for Automobile Manufacturers.

Elizabeth was a member of the PRI Private Equity Advisory Committee and is currently a Board Member of Denali Water Solutions, a member of the Caesars Entertainment CSR External Advisory Board and serves on the Corporate Eco Forum Advisory Board.

James Stacey is ERM’s Global Director of Climate Change.  He previously led ERM’s London-based Financial Services practice, focusing on ESG, M&A transaction support, climate-related financial risk, sustainable finance, value creation, and impact investing. He is a senior sustainability professional with more than 25 years of private equity, banking and professional services experience, working in senior roles at the interface between environment/sustainability, finance and investment, business strategy and performance.

Prior to joining ERM, James was a founding Principal Partner at Earth Capital, the US$1.4bn AUM clean tech and clean energy infrastructure asset manager. Earlier in his career, James was Global Head of Sustainable Business at Standard Chartered. In these roles, James was either a member of or reported to ExCom and a member of Investment/ Approval Committees. He delivered both organization’s ESG and sustainability strategies, directed E&S risk and external relations, and contributed to investment research and strategy, including co-developing & launching Standard Chartered’s US$10bn clean energy infrastructure business.

James is a Fellow at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, with whom he has delivered sustainability leadership development to senior and C-Suite executives for over 12 years.
