Michael Ottaviano, ERM Partner, will be moderating this session addressing how governments and corporates catalyze the development of supply chains for low-carbon solutions such as hydrogen and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS). Speakers will also share their perspectives on the role that innovation plays in improving technology and driving down costs of low-carbon solutions. Michael Ottaviano

Managing Partner, Renewable Energy, Asia Pacific, ERM

Michael leads ERM’s Renewable Energy practice across the Asia Pacific region. In the past 12 months, ERM has supported its clients on over 40GW of renewable project developments across the region. With over 20 years of experience in the Renewables, Technology, Infrastructure and Government sectors, he is a trusted advisor to boards and senior executives on the transformation and development of solar, battery, wind, hydrogen, microgrid and marine renewables projects. Michael has previously held notable leadership positions, including CEO and Non-Executive Director Roles of ASX-listed energy and technology companies, not for profits and industry boards including the Clean Energy Council as is currently a member of the Transgrid Advisory Committee.

Justin Payne

Partner, Capital Project Delivery, Low Carbon Economy Transition

Justin leads and manages the delivery of low carbon economy transition projects across Australia and Asia Pacific, including renewable hydrogen production and potential applications. With over 20 years of experience, Justin has an extensive track record across operational, safety and risk management in the production, distribution and use of cryogenic and high-pressure gases. He has held general management, finance and project management roles in Australia, New Zealand and Japan, across the heavy industrial, minerals processing and industrial gas industries. Prior to joining ERM, he held various leadership roles in Air Liquide, including as Industrial Director in Japan, Country Managing Director in New Zealand, and earlier as the Finance Manager in Western Australia. Justin is able to lend insights and share best practices from both practitioner and advisor perspectives, to help organisations on their journey towards a low carbon economy.
