Applying a Bow Tie Risk Analysis to Illustrate Business Impact and Improve Electronic Product and Supply Chain Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Programs

This session presented by Conor Grieve will feature a real-world case study illustrating how we successfully applied the bow-tie risk analysis to gain leadership support for program improvements to prevent loss of access and market share when organizational and raw material changes occur. The application of a bow-tie risk analysis was used to identify and communicate the critical gaps and associated business risks to improve product and supply chain EHS programs. ERM will illustrate how to understand better changes in the EHS management of product manufacturing and raw material inputs can impact product sales.

Using Your Management Systems to Operationalize EHS (and Sustainability)

This session presented by Terry Mors will discuss the systems approach to managing EHS considerations and applying those same concepts broadly to sustainability. Examples are included regarding how organizations leverage their management systems to achieve goals, drive improvement and reflect their culture.

Terry Mors

Consulting Director

Terry has over 40 years of experience providing environmental, health and safety (EHS) and product quality management systems support to clients in the technology, manufacturing, chemical, and automotive industries. His expertise includes working with large organizations to assess processes and procedures, develop programs to improve EHS performance, implement new management systems, enhance existing systems, conduct management system audits, and conduct training. In addition, Terry has experience conducting third-party audits and brings the registrar's perspective to each engagement. Terry maintains certified lead auditor status for ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, and is an approved lead auditor for OHSAS 18001.

Conor Grieve

Senior Consultant, Climate Change

Conor is a Senior Consultant in ERM’s Sustainability Strategy team based in Montreal, Canada. He supports technology and manufacturing companies with sustainability and innovation strategy, transformation management, and corporate strategy development. In addition, Conor works on capturing emerging trends in circularity and product stewardship through organizational design and transformation. He works with companies to assess the feasibility of market entry for a circular product and recycling system, including developing the strategy for market entry. Conor has worked with leading technology companies to design its product stewardship to understand value chain risk and develop improved management practices to capture value from ESG product credentials. Previously, Conor worked with national and sub-national governments to create a circular economy policy strategy focused on value chain resilience. His work covered plastics, rubber, remanufacturing, forestry, and industrial sectors. Conor also supported a lobbying agency in developing business cases for enhancing circularity in nine industries, including electrical equipment. Conor has a Master's in Business Administration from McGill University and a Master's in Global Development from Queen’s University.
