ERM Webinar: Integrating Sustainability Across the Ag Industry

Christy is the Global Food Chain Leader for Crop Protection at Corteva Agriscience. She is responsible for leading Corteva’s efforts to align its Crop Protection business with the needs of the downstream food value chain, including sustainable sourcing initiatives and supporting customers in meeting food standards. Christy joined Dow AgroSciences, one of Corteva’s predecessor organizations, in 2010. She has held roles in the company’s U.S. and global business, including brand management responsibilities and leadership of the company’s U.S. Seeds communications team. Christy also held roles in the company’s External Affairs division, such as leading global advocacy and policy activities for Corteva’s Crop Protection Business. She began her career working in public affairs and for integrated advertising and communications firms Young & Laramore and Hetrick Communications.

Keith has served in numerous senior legislative, administrative, regulatory and public policy roles for more than two decades,  and he has been actively involved in shaping domestic and international policies regarding pesticides, organic agriculture, agricultural biotechnology, invasive species, climate change, specialty crops and food safety. He joined MBI in 2008, after working at the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a special assistant to deputy secretary Richard Rominger, and to Secretary Dan Glickman where he led several key agricultural, environmental and food safety initiatives for the USDA and the Clinton Administration. His career at USDA focused on issues such as the president’s Initiative to Ensure the Safety of Imported and Domestic Fruits and Vegetables, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Montreal Protocol and phase-out of methyl bromide, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, major reform of U.S. pesticide policy, integrated pest management research and technology transfer programming and agricultural biotechnology policy, the WTO and NAFTA, and several U.S. farm bills. He was also the USDA leader on developing and implementing the president’s Executive Order on Invasive Species and the president’s National Invasive Species Management Plan.

Steven is a senior scientist and leader in the agricultural industry with over 20 years of experience in product safety, risk assessment, regulatory science, and sustainability. He has led numerous diverse teams in North America, Europe and Latin America and has developed and implemented strategies for technologies and services that incorporate evolving regulatory, safety, political and societal perspectives. He currently leads the development and integration of sustainability opportunities for Syngenta’s North America businesses.

Bonnie is a Partner in ERM’s Product Stewardship community based in Malvern, PA. She has 15 years of environmental consulting experience, the last 10 of which have been dedicated to supporting clients in the crop protection, chemical, and manufacturing industries. Bonnie supports clients across the life cycle of their products to ensure global compliance obligations are addressed while managing environmental and social impacts.

Donald is a senior consultant at ERM, specialising in Life Cycle Assessment. He has more than 10 years experience in life cycle assessment (LCA), carbon and water footprinting of products and corporate assessments. Donald has significant experience in the food and agriculture sectors with a range of clients to assess environmental impacts at a product and farm level through to national and corporate assessments. This has included being project manager and technical lead for product LCAs and corporate environmental footprints for large companies and trade bodies in the Agchem sector, including Syngenta, Croplife and a range of large and small fertilizer production companies.
