Global Offshore Wind 2025

Andy has 18+ years of experience in the renewable energy industry, initially in academia and for the last 17 years in consultancy. The majority of his consulting experience has been in providing technical due diligence for onshore and offshore wind projects, having lead advisory teams on projects in five continents and countless countries. Andy has experience working across both debt and equity markets and has a proven track record in delivering commercial and technical appraisals on development and operational stage projects/portfolios.  

Vicky provides senior direction to sustainability related services particularly for the energy and mining sectors in the context of the Low Carbon Economy Transition. She is a social specialist by background with 25 years experience working with the private and finance sectors to work in step with the expectations of society. As the multiple challenges of our unsustainable ways of living on the planet become every more visible, she is passionate about supporting forward thinking businesses to thrive by becoming sustainability leaders. Along with colleagues at ERM we are focusing increasingly on supporting clients to understand their role in realising a Just Transition in the geographies in which they operate. 

Most of her work has involved supporting clients to navigate complicated programs and projects in challenging environments. As we navigate this ever more complex world, Vicky is excited to use her facilitation and relationship building skills to help individuals and companies collaborate together to deliver the step changes required to work more in harmony with each other, society and our planet.

Katie has a BSc (Hons) in Oceanography with Marine Biology from the University of Southampton and an MSc in Marine Environmental Protection from the University of Wales, Bangor. She has 20 years’ experience as a marine professional, primarily in the consulting and survey contracting sectors. Katie has a strong marine biology background and detailed knowledge of the legislative frameworks which govern UK waters. Combined, these have enabled her to successfully manage both renewables and O&G marine environmental and multidisciplinary surveys in the North Sea and worldwide.

At present Katie is a Principal Consultant with the Marine CPD team at ERM, where she manages the Ecology Consultancy Team as well as completes project work including: the development of the Environmental Mitigation and Monitoring Plan for a tidal development, designing/managing benthic scopes of work for numerous developments (O&G and renewables), EIA/ES project management and licensing/consenting/permitting work within a range of sectors.

Katie additionally chairs the SUT Marine Environmental Science Special Interest Group and is an IMarEST Chartered Marine Scientist and an IMarEST Chartered Scientist.

Roberta works in the Marine Renewables & Infrastructure team at ERM, consulting on the early-stage development of offshore wind globally and providing clients with guidance on market entry, feasibility, and project development. Roberta is passionate about accelerating the deployment of renewables in support of net zero targets. She holds a MSc in Climate Change, Development and Policy from the University of Sussex and a Geography BSc degree from the University of Leeds.

Philip Durrant is Partner Lead within ERM's Marine Renewables and Infrastructure team, with 35+ years of experience and proven business development and leadership skills who focuses on the delivery of outstanding services and products. 

Phil has a track record of delivering significant and sustained commercial growth through focused business development, mergers and acquisitions and intelligent strategic partnerships. 

Alex is a Partner within the Renewables Industry at ERM. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the development, consenting and environmental assessment of major infrastructure projects with his focus area being offshore wind projects and their associated onshore grid connections. Alex has spent most of his career supporting renewable energy development and he is passionate about the UK and our world achieving renewable energy objectives. Alex has worked on offshore wind and marine energy projects across England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and wider Europe. He has been able to support projects at all phases of development from site selection and lease application support, Environmental Impact Assessment and consenting to discharging conditions post consent in preparation for construction. Previously, Alex has managed teams of 25+ Environmental Consultants from Project Managers to EIA Co-ordinators to Technical Specialists working on a range of marine energy projects in the UK and internationally. He has developed skills in managing diverse teams, leading teams through periods of transition, communicating objectives and strategy, networking and integrating teams with wider company divisions, supporting teams in business development, resource planning and performance management.

Matthew Irvine is a Director of ERM with 15+ years of working experience in wind and solar industry and lifecycle experience on over 20 GW of renewables assets globally.

Huw has a scientific background with a PhD in coastal processes from Southampton, but has spent most of his career in commercial roles supporting marine infrastructure developments across sectors such as LNG, O&G production and, over the last 20 years, offshore wind. Huw has held roles with Cefas, that of executive director of an offshore survey consultancy undertaking site surveys for array and export cable characterisations, a period with Orsted as Head of UK Environment and Consents and, more recently, as a Partner with ERM providing environmental and sustainability expertise to offshore wind developers and operators.  
 
Huw is a highly experienced marine industry leader offering a wide range of business expertise drawn from offshore wind and other markets: strategic planning, P&L responsibility, implementing business development and growth initiatives, contractual risk management, with a proven ability to create value through internal & external relationships, to lead change, and develop talent.  
 
Huw is responsible for ERM's offshore wind growth strategy in EMEA.  

Sophie is a Principal Environmental Consultant with over 12 years of international experience, specializing in marine and offshore development. She plays a leading role in managing the delivery of high-quality environmental assessments for offshore wind projects, subsea cables, and coastal infrastructure. Sophie has worked on projects across Africa, Europe, the US, Canada, and the UK, gaining a strong understanding of region-specific sensitivities and challenges. Her expertise spans site selection, risk identification, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), securing and managing consents, post-consent discharge of requirements, consent variations, and statutory stakeholder engagement.

James is a Principal Consultant at ERM with 9+ years’ professional experience within the offshore wind industry. James leads ERM’s offshore wind markets and feasibility team.

He specializes in strategic advisory, early stage offshore wind development, market studies, GIS, feasibility studies and bid writing. James has provided market entry and site feasibility support to clients in the majority of offshore wind markets globally across both fixed and floating offshore wind. James has substantial experience supporting public sector clients having supported multiple governments establish and run offshore wind auctions. 

Mauricio is an expert in project development and has a proven track record in participating in the assessment of 15+ GW of offshore wind projects globally. 

He has enjoyed a long-term career in renewable energy, having focused on leadership and management of technical teams, business development, and project sponsorship. He has worked across multiple geographies, where has had the opportunity to experience markets at different stages of maturity.  

Mauricio has extensive experience in managing and directing strategic assignments associated with the development, construction and operation of offshore wind projects. Throughout his career, Mauricio has advised on a wide range of services as measurement campaign definitions, wind and SCADA data analysis, wind turbine inspections, energy analysis, Independent Engineering and Technical Due Diligence. He has also conducted site condition calculations, noise modelling and visual impact assessments.  

Mauricio trained as a Mechanical Engineer and is also qualified in Renewable Energy. He is a Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (CEng IMechE). Mauricio is proficient in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
