Catherine Sahley

Dr. Sahley is a biodiversity specialist who works as an international consultant, researcher, and educator. She has extensive experience working in Latin America and is experienced with ESG and the application of international bank standards and best practices, particularly IFC Performance Standards and World Bank Group EHS Guidelines. Her experience includes overseeing complex biodiversity monitoring programs in Andean and rainforest habitats with mining, power and infrastructure projects in Latin America. She applies her biodiversity expertise to assist clients with developing strategies to achieve No Net Loss and Net Gain of biodiversity through the creation and implementation of Biodiversity Action Plans.

Jose Antonio Castillo is an ERM Partner based in Mexico City. He is part of the Capital Project services team and has been leading the offshore environmental projects at ERM since 2014. Jose has led comprehensive projects that include all the permitting phases and sustainability assessments for several offshore projects in the framework initiated by the energy reform in México. Throughout his career, he has been part of the advising team for big investment projects in Mexico, dealing with national requirements for permitting, international finance standards, and corporate guidelines that must be translated to the local scenario. During this process, he has interacted with different authorities in Mexico at different levels, gaining a fair understanding of the authority’s expectations and vision.

Recently, he has been leading teams and projects all over the LATAM region and coordinating the local efforts for the nature and water services for Mexico and Colombia.

Sandra Carrillo

Sandra has a master in Environment and Development graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), with 13 years of experience in sustainability management in the private sector, governmental institutions, and international cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean. Sandra has led projects in 14 countries on the following topics: environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) standards; sustainable finance; strategies for the prevention of socio-environmental conflicts; and local development plans, including approaches to social inclusion and productive diversification. She holds extensive experience as a facilitator of multi-stakeholder dialogue processes and speaker at the national and international level, both in the academic field and high-level platforms, such as the World Resources Forum (Geneva, 2021& 2017) XXXVI International Congress of the Association of Latin American Studies (Barcelona,2018), the 9th Latin American Congress on Politic Sciences (Montevideo, 2017), and the International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences where received the Graduate Scholar Award (London, 2016).
