Effective from 1st October 2020, the Equator Principles 4 (EP4) have brought a number changes that companies should be preparing to implement.
ERM is hosting a webinar where our sustainable finance and impact assessment experts will discuss lessons learned from several of the renewable energy development projects to apply EP4 in Taiwan.
In particular, our team will explain the requirements for climate risk and human rights assessments in the scope of EP4 transactions, along with the challenges for biodiversity (Black-faced Spoonbill 黑面琵鷺 or Taiwan White Dolphin 台灣白海豚) and socioeconomic issues (fishery livelihood restoration) in various EP4 projects in Taiwan.

Dr. Leu is Managing Partner of ERM Taiwan. With over 25 years of environmental engineering and management experience in government and consulting, Dr. Leu has directed, managed and conducted numerous of environmental site assessment, environmental health and safety (EHS) management system and corporate audit programs, EHS due diligence, and environmental & social risk assessments for both local and multi-national corporations.
Terence Fong is ERM Partner responsible for overseeing Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Biodiversity Impact Assessments, fisheries, environmental monitoring and audit (EM&A), Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) and permitting for power, submarine utilities and infrastructure development (including port, terminals, highways and railway etc.) in the Asia Pacific region.
Terence has over 21 years’ experience in ecological research, environmental management and marine conservation and is highly familiar with IFC Performance Standards, particularly IFC PS6 and ‘Critical’ habitat evaluation. He has managed, designed and supervised numerous Projects spanning across wider Asia Pacific region to meet client requirements including in Brunei, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Vietnam as well as core work in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines and PR China.
Sabrina works with clients to help identify, understand and manage their social and human rights risks, impacts, and opportunities. She has written human rights policies and procedures for a range of companies, developed corporate and site level human rights risk and impact assessments, conducted audits (including supply chain audits), and delivered human rights training and capacity building programs. Given the cross cutting nature of human rights, she often works with a large range of internal functions – including human resources, procurement, legal, social performance, corporate affairs, and environment. Although she is based in Australia, Sabrina has worked across the Asia-Pacific region, including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Solomon Islands, Thailand, and Vietnam. Much of her work in the region has been guided by the International Finance Corporation’s Performance Standards and/ or the Asian Development Bank’s Safeguards.
Yulia has 15 years' experience in consulting and managing projects on climate change, clean energy and sustainable development. Before joining the ERM Asia-Pacific team as a Partner, Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change, Yulia was a Head of Climate Policy and Climate Finance, Asia at South Pole - a global climate solutions provider. She was leading a team of consultants and a portfolio of advisory projects in the region related to the assessment and design of climate policies, strategies, as well as innovative blended finance schemes, impact funds and facilities that help de-risk and unlock private investments in climate actions.
Yulia has been involved in a number of TCFD-related advisory assignments assisting her clients in assessing and disclosing climate-related risks and opportunities for their businesses and in defining Science-Based Targets (SBT) as part of their low-carbon economy transition journey.
