Annette Nienhaus is a Partner with ERM based in Hamburg, Germany. She holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and European Energy Economics. Annette has been passionate about renewable energy ever since starting her career nearly 30 years ago. She has worked extensively on onshore and offshore wind assignments, covering all aspects from site development and assessment, planning and permitting, construction site EH&S management and safety culture transformation.
Over the last years, Annette has increasingly been involved in hydrogen research with a focus on green hydrogen from offshore wind. Her paper on analysing different technologies for the storage of energy from fluctuating sources, including power-to-gas applications, received an award from the Austrian Electrotechnical Society (OVE/OGE) in 2012. Recently, Annette has supported the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s Low Carbon Hydrogen Pathfinder as well as the ERM Dolphyn project.
