ERM Webinar: Equator Principles 4 - Are you ready?

Piers is the Managing Partner for ERM China. He has advised on Equator Principles transactions since their inception in 2003. On behalf of lenders, he has undertaken over 100 Independent Environmental and Social Reviews of projects under the Equator Principles and/or underlying IFC Performance Standards and regularly advises on the negotiation of environmental and social covenants to loan/ investment agreements. On behalf of borrowers, Mr Touzel has led the preparation of over 60 Environmental and Social Impact Assessments and Resettlement Plans for projects across a diverse range of industries. Mr Touzel has recently undertaken independent reviews of two major Asian infrastructure projects under the Equator Principles 4 framework.

Piers has provided Equator Principles advisory services throughout Greater China, South East Asia (Indonesia, PNG, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand) and South America.

Sabrina, a Partner with ERM, works with clients to help identify, understand and manage their social and human rights risks, impacts, and opportunities. She has written human rights policies and procedures for a range of companies, developed corporate and site level human rights risk and impact assessments, conducted audits (including supply chain audits), and delivered human rights training and capacity building programs. Given the cross cutting nature of human rights, she often works with a large range of internal functions – including human resources, procurement, legal, social performance, corporate affairs, and environment.

Although she is based in Australia, Sabrina has worked across the Asia-Pacific region, including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Solomon Islands, Thailand, and Vietnam. Much of her work in the region has been guided by the International Finance Corporation’s Performance Standards and/ or the Asian Development Bank’s Safeguards.

Yulia has 15 years' experience in consulting and managing projects on climate change, clean energy and sustainable development. Before joining the ERM Asia-Pacific team as a Partner, Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change, Yulia was a Head of Climate Policy and Climate Finance, Asia at South Pole - a global climate solutions provider. She was leading a team of consultants and a portfolio of advisory projects in the region related to the assessment and design of climate policies, strategies, as well as innovative blended finance schemes, impact funds and facilities that help de-risk and unlock private investments in climate actions.

Yulia has been involved in a number of TCFD-related advisory assignments assisting her clients in assessing and disclosing climate-related risks and opportunities for their businesses and in defining Science-Based Targets (SBT) as part of their low-carbon economy transition journey.
