Andrew has over thirty-five years’ experience in the regulation and risk assessment of chemicals in the EU. He is a biocide regulatory expert supporting active substance approvals and product approvals at Member State and EU level, skilled in substance approval programs and task force technical management. His work also involves leading and delivering regulatory and technical projects and acting as a scientific specialist in environmental fate and exposure modelling. Andrew is also highly skilled in the technical areas necessary for substance and product approval (analytical chemistry, toxicology, ecotoxicology, efficacy and human health risk assessment).

Claire has over 15 years’ experience providing regulatory and strategic advice to companies in the chemicals industry. At ERM, she manages a wide range of projects and supports clients in providing regulatory and scientific advice for biocidal products and active substances in EMEA and South Korea. She leads highly skilled multidisciplinary teams to assist ERM clients in meeting regulatory requirements. Her work ranges from data review, dossier preparation, strategic advice, plus advocacy and negotiation with member states and regulators.

Meritxell has over 10 years’ experience in supporting chemical companies comply with EU regulations. She has managed a wide range of biocide projects and supported clients through the active substance and product authorisation approval process in the EU and the UK. She provides regulatory and scientific advice on registration strategy, identification of data gaps, dossier preparation and submission for EU BPR registrations and national registrations across the EU under transitional arrangements. She has experience in liaising with regulatory authorities throughout the evaluation phase of the various regulatory processes.

Marcel is a Netherlands-based Partner in ERM’s Sustainable Product & Supply Chain team. He has over 25 years of experience working in the specialty chemical industry, consultancy, and governmental agencies. Marcel joined the Ctgb (Board for the authorization of plant protection products and biocides, NL) in 2013 and since 2018 led the Ctgb’s biocide team. Having joined ERM in 2021, he supports clients in providing regulatory awareness, advocacy, and strategic advice on biocidal product authorization and active substance approval under the EU Biocides Regulation (BPR). Besides biocides, his focus includes the broad EU chemicals, environmental and sustainability policy developments, covering for example the implications of the EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability.
