Major topics at ChemCon Europe 2023
ChemCon has a packed agenda, focusing on the most important topics shaping the industry.
As the EU transitions to a low-carbon and circular economy, the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability is one of the key elements of the EU Green Deal. This addresses the essential use concept which will play a critical role in determining which substances can continue to be used, and under what conditions in the new economy. Many of the sustainability subjects will be addressed on Friday 27th October. As the EU sustainability agenda is constantly and dynamically evolving, with new or revised policies and frameworks being announced regularly, this context is central to understanding what is happening and what is coming from the policymakers.
As always at ChemCon, there are special sections dedicated to chemicals policy and developments around the world. Particularly noteworthy this year are the US and TOSCA developments, as well as news on the Toxic Releases Inventory. One of the subjects of greatest concern in both the US and EU at the moment is, of course, PFAS.
