To meet our clients' needs, we continue to make strategic acquisitions that provide unique strengths and broaden our geographic and service offerings.
Since 2014, ERM has completed 19 acquisitions, bringing in the expertise of close to 1,000 people. These acquisitions complement our core client offerings and expand our capability and the service offerings that we can provide clients across our geographies. Our FY21 acquisitions continue to help us respond to the changing needs of our clients.
The acquisition of Arcus further strengthens our position as a sustainability leader at the forefront of supporting our clients to address the low carbon economy transition. We are able to better provide unique and comprehensive life-cycle solutions to all of our clients who are looking to transition to renewable energy to meet global decarbonization targets.
Arcus’s team of 100 people has worked on some of the most significant renewable energy projects in the UK and Africa, including many first-of-a-kind windfarms, solar plants and battery storage facilities.
The acquisition of ESC enables us to better address our clients’ technical and functional safety challenges associated with high-hazard processes in chemicals, mining, pharmaceuticals, energy, utilities, automotive and manufacturing sectors. The acquisition also enables us to support our clients as they navigate the transition to a low carbon future by applying functional and technical safety expertise to hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, offshore wind, hydro projects and flood defense.
ESC’s team of 25 multi-disciplined professionals bring expertise in the assessment and management of biosafety risks, applying functional safety approaches to this critical area.
We are rapidly expanding and scaling up our existing capabilities in media safety services both organically and through this acquisition, to help reach our goal of becoming the global market leader in this industry. Clients will benefit from an internationally consistent, highly specialized and advanced production safety offering from pre- to post-production.
First Option works with many of the leading TV and film production companies, streaming companies, studios and broadcasters to ensure productions are safe, by helping clients assess and manage risks during production. Founded in 2005, the company employs more than 50 staff.
This new acquisition, signed in FY21 and closed in early FY22, expands ERM’s sustainability consulting capabilities in continental Europe and further reinforces our position as the global market leader in pure-play sustainability consulting.
Sustainalize's team of 30 professionals work with businesses to measure, disclose and respond to ESG (environmental, social and governance) issues and challenges. The company supports clients on strategy development and execution, implementation, external reporting and impact measurement across a broad range of sustainability topics, including climate change, biodiversity loss, the availability of resources, diversity and equality, human rights and governance.
We have brought some great companies into ERM in recent times. Their capability, clients and brand are adding real strength, depth and talent to ERM’s market position and future."
