I began my career at ERM in 2006 as Managing Partner of our Indonesia operations. After working for the competition in Indonesia and the United States, I was drawn to ERM because it is a smaller, nimbler and more client-focused organization.
Since joining the company, ERM has enabled me – an environmental engineer from Brazil – to broaden my experience across different countries and industry sectors. After primarily working with oil and gas and mining companies in Jakarta (Indonesia) for several years, I moved to Houston (US). While in Houston, I led multi-disciplinary teams that managed social and environmental risks impacting extractive industry clients in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
From there, I relocated to Cape Town (South Africa) and built a team of experts from Africa, Europe and the United States to provide comprehensive impact assessment studies and business continuity advisory services to select companies in West and East Africa. Such efforts helped us to launch our Mozambique office and expand our work helping clients in Angola, South Africa and Nigeria. Although originally focused on offshore oil and gas operations, including liquified natural gas, I also developed new clients within the chemical and manufacturing sectors.
A few years ago, I transferred to my current location in Chicago (US) to manage the chemical sector accounts in one of our large business units. I then took a North American leadership role to grow our relationships in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors. Currently, I am the Account Director for one of ERM’s oil and gas global key clients.
I am surrounded by brilliant technical specialists at ERM, in a work environment that fosters learning from each other so that we can grow and be successful. We have a strong Partnership model, and I count many ERM Partners as close friends and coaches who have helped me develop professionally over the years. I am proud to have mentored and sponsored a number of new Partners at ERM, and I actively serve as a coach in our internal Aspire program. Such initiatives are rewarding and give me a platform and the time to be a leader of leaders.
ERM has provided me with opportunities spanning continents, industrial sectors and technical services. Yet regardless of where I sit or what role I am serving, I enjoy learning from and collaborating with the people at ERM. That is what inspires me and motivates me every day.
